Just a quick update about Renshinkai’s Year End and New Year schedule and events.
Keiko Osame (final training of the year) and our year end party at the Honbu Dojo is on Tuesday, December 23rd (Japan National Holiday).
Training will take place from 1pm until 2:30pm and is free for all Renshinkai members.
After training is the annual dojo cleaning, followed by the party beginning at 4pm.
There is a 3,000 yen fee for the party, which includes food and drinks.
2016 training begins again on Friday, January 8th, followed by our first event; Kangeiko, Winter Intensive Training. Work off that holiday gut between January 9th and 11th as we run through all the basic techniques over 10 hours of training packed into 3 days!
Classes will be held at the Chuo Sports Center and at our Ryogoku dojo.
As always training is free for Renshinkai members (500 yen per class for non-members), and everyone is welcome to train – regardless of rank, experience, or affiliation.
2016 Kagami Biraki demonstration will be held the on Saturday January 17 (the weened after Kangeiko) at the Honbu dojo.
The demonstration by Chida Sensei and Honbu Instructors begins at 11am, after which there will be a party featuring traditional mochi and rice wine.
Further details about these upcoming events will be posted early in the New Year.
